:: Introduction

The new GT864-3G terminal is a complete encased modem solution for wireless m2m
applications based on the single-band 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA UC864-E core engine with integrated SIM holder as well as additional features.
The GT864-3G is also fully backward compatible to existing EDGE and GSM/GPRS networks through accomplished quad-band radios. Offering extended operating temperature, inte- grated TCP/IP stack, direct control by standard serial RS-232 interface or USB 2.0 inter- face, and with a broad supply voltage range (5-32 V DCl, the GT864-3G terminal is a com- plete stand alone solution for m2m applications that require high speed data exchange.
The GT864-3G, new generation of Telit 3.5G terminals, is provided with Windows and Linux drivers that significantly ease the integration in existing applications.
All Telit modules, support Over-the-Air firmware update by means Premium FOTA Man- agement. By embedding RedBend's vCurrent® agent, a proven and battle-tested technol- ogy powering hundreds of millions of cellular handsets world-wide Telit is able to update its products by transmitting only a delta file, which represents the difference between one firmware version and another.
As a part of Telit's corporate policy of environmental protection, all products comply to the
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substancesl directive of the European Union (EU Directive
2002/95/EGl.
